The Fra Angelico Art Foundation, highly appreciated and supported by the late Cardinal Bernardin, is the only organization of its kind in the United States dedicated to the promotion of outstanding spiritual art. It also seeks to bestow its highest honor, Patron of the Arts, on individuals who, in their lives and work, are displaying the same devotion.

Consequently, the Foundation feels that it is extremely important to select a distinguished person in the field of art to be honored as Patron of the Arts

Congratulations, Philip Wicklander
Patron of the Arts, 2001.

Philip Wicklander, FAAF Patron of the Arts

he Patron of the Arts is a person of accomplishment who also enjoys the beauty of art created by talented artists, both amateur and professional. On September 16, 2001, Fra Angelico Art Foundation honored Philip Wicklander, who distinguishes himself in the business world and in the world of art. As past president of the Union League Club, he reactivated the Art Acquisition Fund and developed the Distinguished Artist Program. As chairman of the art committee, he oversaw the widely acclaimed exhibit, "Top Fifteen Living Chicago Artists." He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Cultural Center Foundation, and an active supporter of Chicago's Gallery 37, a program for high school artist-interns. He is a generous friend of the Fra Angelico Art Foundation, and true admirer of its noble goals. These are among the reasons Philip Wicklander was selected as Patron of the Arts 2001.
